What is nutrition?
Nutrition is defined as the set of phenomena and processes that allow an organism to transform food in order to produce the energy necessary for its functioning.
Nutrition encompasses two main areas:
- The physiology of nutrition : that is to say, the study of the systems, mechanisms and regulations that allow the body to use macro and micronutrients.
- The psychology of nutrition , which focuses on eating behavior.

The use of food, and more particularly its constituents, depends on the functioning of our body and its major functions, but also on the very composition of the food.
Our body functions thanks to the maintenance of optimal function of its various systems; this is homeostasis. Its purpose is, among other things, to allow adaptation to the environment but also to what we eat.
